3/9/2021: Thoughts on Article: How the news changes the way we think and behave

The article explains the ways in which news conveyed through television, social media, radio, etc. affects the way we go about our daily lives. The article describes how the average person who spends 11 hours a day looking at screens is brainwashed by what the news wants us to believe. One of the biggest factors the article included is how news can cause the viewers trauma. For example, when tragedy hits. news coverage makes sure to include graphic images and stories, engraving them inside the audiences head. The article uses many real world examples and surveys to assure others that the media is harming the way we live our lives.

I agree with the article. The media does warp our perception of reality and affect the way we go about our day. People spend hours watching and listening to news that mainly includes negative content. For instance, when terrorist attacks are covered by the news, broadcasters make sure to insert fear in the heads of everyone listening by showing graphic images and making them think that they could be targeted next. The news and media want their audiences to believe in what they want you to believe.
